A Nursing Assistant certificate allows you the opportunity to secure employment at entry level in the medical field. This position requires compassion and dedication to assisting others. It also requires a high level of effective communication as well as attention for detail. Most people entering the Nursing Assistant profession find it to be a rewarding and challenging career. However, many choose to use it as a building block for becoming a Nurse.

The program for becoming a Nursing Assistant is very fast compared with the time it takes to earn a degree in Nursing. It is better to spend four to twelve weeks in training to find out then to spend two or more years working on a Nursing degree.

Others choose to advance their career once they have been working as a Nurse Assistant because they see many of the tasks Nurses are responsible for. It is a level of responsibility they wish to acquire. Since they work so closely with the Nursing staff, it is a perfect opportunity to explore more of what takes place. Many people are unaware that to secure a job interview, that it is the cover letter and not the resume, that gets it in the first place. With a well drafted cover letter you have more chances of landing that dream job than you do by just relying solely on your resume. All job cover letters should be drafted in business letter format and with three to four brief paragraphs.

The first few lines will contain the purpose of the cover letter. The second paragraph would state your skills and experience for the job and the final paragraph will contain a request for being considered for an interview.

Most of the companies gauge an applicant’s interest for the job though the cover letter. A well drafted and lively cover letter would stand out and get noticed in a crowd. Workplace inspections of 30 commercial businesses in Blacktown found that only eight
employers were non-compliant with industrial relations laws, Don Jones, Executive Director,
NSW Office of Industrial Relations said today.

Mr Jones said that the inspections of businesses in the Westpoint shopping precinct at Blacktown
were concluded in May of this year as part of a compliance campaign targeting commercial

BOSSES REMINDED ABOUT PAYING PUBLIC HOLIDAY RATES

NSW Minister for Industrial Relations, John Hatzistergos, today reminded retailers to ensure that all staff working on Monday’s public holiday are paid correct award rates.

“Employers must ensure that the correct award rates of pay are paid and the appropriate meal and rest breaks are given to staff working on a public holiday,” he said. Mr Hatzistergos said that more than $4 million was recovered from employers in NSW last financial year, including back payments for workers that did not receive correct public holiday penalty rates.

 INSPECTORS CHECK BATHURST BOSSES

Workplace inspections of 27 commercial businesses in the Bathurst area found that 13 employers were non-compliant with industrial relations laws, Don Jones, Executive Director at the NSW Office of Industrial Relations said today.

Mr Jones said that although most bosses were found to be fair, the inspections completed in July this year uncovered 33 breaches by the 13 businesses. “The aim of the inspections is to provide employers with information and advice on pay rates, conditions of employment, leave entitlements and employment record keeping obligations,” Mr Jones said.
