How can we define a Work From Home Parent? Everyone knows someone who is a parent, and everyone would know somebody who is a work at home parent, be it male or female.

A Work From Home Parent is a businessman or businesswoman takes care of their children while working from home.

Building a Business while being a Work from Home Parent

A businessman or businesswoman who conducts business at home may do so for a lot of reasons, despite reasons it gives one the flexibility to plan their time between business and family. The reasons could be numerous, but which parent would fore go the opportunity of working their own hours all the while spending time with their children and family at the same time fulfilling social obligations. This class of entrepreneurs, the Work At Home Parents, also saves a lot in terms of time and money.

Objectives of a Work From Home Parent

The main objective of a Work From Home Parent would be to integrate their business time with parenting responsibilities without a loss in income or opportunity.

This article deals with integrating entrepreneurship with parenting to the best possible effect and history of Work From Home Parenting.

The integration of entrepreneurship with parenting can be achieved by bringing together the use of time and space, accommodating parentage in business and flexibility.

Usage of time and Space: Taking children on business errands, scheduling activities when the children are resting and getting the children used to the concept of an office that accepts their presence.

Accommodating Parentage in business: Once your business acquaintances come to know that parentage is a priority with you, they would certainly accommodate with you in taking time for caring for children. As the children grow, taking their help to perform small tasks would certainly help in a Work From home Parent’s business. It would also help in children growing responsible.

Flexibility: Working your own hours will help a work at home Parent perform and work well since they can work at times suitable and in shorter spurts than in a continuous process.

History of Work From Home Parenting: The practice of integrating entrepreneurship with parenting has been in practice for a long time since the times of merchants and artisans. These classes of entrepreneurs worked closer to their homes, with children loitering in the background. Only the historical circumstances like Industrial Revolution distanced the children away from their parent’s workplaces. However the recent trends of dual working parents (due to economic compulsions) brought about a void in parentage, which in turn gave rise to the concept of work/life balance making Work From Home Parentage a viable and sensible proposition.

So you are looking to start an Ebay Business. It is believed that more than 430,000 people in the United States alone are working full or part time on Ebay. It may be easier to start an Ebay business than you think.

If you feel Ebay is just a novelty item or low value trinket type outlet, you should take a look again. An Ebay business can sell anything from trinkets to antiques and automobiles. The five highest categories were automobiles and auto supplies, consumer electronics, computers, clothes and accessories, books, movies and music.

Ebay was started in 1995 and has become the worlds biggest online auction place selling all kinds of products and services. There is approximately 1,000 dollars in sales every second. There are 135 million registered users in 32 countries. You can see your Ebay business will have a potentially large exposure or audience.

Before you start with an Ebay business you should decide if you want to be a full time business or just a part time hobby. Do you want to work from your home or set up an outside office to work from? Do you want to work on your own or do you want to have employees? Do you want to become a Power Seller or a Trade Assistant?

It is a good idea to start small before officially becoming an Ebay business. You can try different headlines and descriptions on a small scale. Practice taking pictures and try different listing formats. Just sell one or two items at a time at first to get comfortable and confident. This all will make your chances of success much greater when you take your Ebay business to the next level.

Getting set up with an Ebay business just takes a few minutes. You will need to supply them with your name, address, telephone number, a credit card and or banking details. This is used for identification and payment of fees purposes. When setting up your Ebay business you may also want to open a PayPal account. This service is owned by Ebay and allows people to use credit cards or their checking accounts to pay you. It also eliminates the need to have a costly merchant account.

When you set up your Ebay business remember to set up your “About Me” page, which is a free eBay feature that allows you to promote your business and yourself.

When you start your Ebay business you may want to register with Federal, State, and local tax authorities. You also may want to form a corporation or LLC to protect yourself from any legal liability. Once again, please contact your Tax Accountant or Professional Business advisor, before proceeding with your business and to ascertain which business structure is best for you.

Your Ebay business now needs something to sell. This can be the most difficult challenge you will face with your Ebay business. You need to pick something that you know about, has a profit potential, and is not hard to photograph or ship. Before you put something up for sale look to see what similar items sold for and ask, can I make money with this? A key point to remember what ever it is you offer it would need to fill a need.

If your Ebay business makes it convenient to buy you have much better chance of success. This means your Ebay business should sell like items. If you sell CD’s then having CD racks or players would be a good combination. The more compatible items you have on sale the better your chances of success.

After you are comfortable with auction formats, and other aspects of your Ebay business remember not to get complacent. You will want to read about any new features, keep in touch with your customers, and also be aware of what your competition is doing. If you are not growing and changing your not taking your Ebay business to its full potential and maximizing you’re earning potential. You will not only be more successful with your Ebay business but you will have more fun.

Please note that the above article is just that, an article. Before proceeding, please check with your Tax Accountant or Business Advisor before proceeding and only after investigating all information, then make your decision.

Smart Home business and Management has turned out to be a great way of beating the recession these days. Working from home can save a lot of unnecessary expenses and in today’s internet capabilities, you can be absolutely anywhere and run a successful home based business. Home business not only gives you financial freedom but also helps you secure your future.

Here are some of the most important benefits of the doing home business:

Money and personal satisfaction: Home business offers great potential and prospect in terms of income, profit and time. You have a great chance of minting money by exploiting whatever the home business opportunity comes to your way. But the most coveted benefit of the home business is personal satisfaction. Owning your own home business gives you a great sense of satisfaction and security as well. This is one of the reasons why more and more people are tending toward the home business.

No Commuting: Running a home business means no daily commuting. By staying at home, you can not only save a lot of time but also save on the travel expenses. So, home business again gives you another opportunity to save and thus earn some money. If you are an owner of the home business, there is no compulsion to wake up punctually to go to office. Depending upon the type of business you are involved in, you can select your own hours.

You are your own boss: Home business gives you the benefit of having internal control. It is you who calls the tune. You will decide each and every thing related to your business. In my book, this is the most important advantage of running home business.

Last but not least, home business also gives you great financial freedom and a platform to secure your future. Beating the recession has become possible for a great number of people because of home business opportunities and the internet.

Types of Home Business

This can be a very lucrative little business, and it appears to be growing in demand and popularity.

The newspaper clipping business is misunderstood by most people, and therefore there are a lot of people who are very skeptical about it as a way for ordinary people to make extra money at home. On the same token however, there is also an opportunity for an enterprising home based business to cut out a niche market for themselves. Sorry for the pun.

In reality, this is but a very small part of the home-based newspaper clipping service. The really successful press clipping services have contracts with companies and organisations that want to keep current on any number of matters reported in the papers.

Some companies hire clipping services in order to keep track of what their competitors are doing. Other companies, use clipping services as a means of locating sales leads and new customers. National magazines and newspapers are always in need of different or interesting material, and frequently employ home-based clipping services.

To set yourself up in this kind of business, you’ll need a pair of sharp scissors and as many different newspapers and magazines as you can subscribe to. A visit to your local public library should be most informative relative to newspapers and magazines available to subscribers.

You may want to attach labels to the top of each clipping you send to your clients. On these labels, you’ll want to print the name of the publication the clipping came from, the date it appeared and include your contact details.

The next step is simply to start clipping articles that mention or talk about specific companies or people. File you clippings in envelopes or boxes according to industries or types of businesses or by company name.

Once you have ten or more clippings that talk about a particular company or person, put them in a envelope and send them to that company’s owner or public relations director. You should include a short note with the clippings, explaining your service and your fees.

Your clients will need to agree to pay you a monthly ”reader’s fee,” for which you agree to look for anything in the newspaper about them, their company or industry. Every time you spot such an article, you of course clip it, and send it to them. Perhaps you could charge a minimum monthly “reader’s fee” of $100 and it is not unreasonable amount to ask for. It can then vary according to the number of publications you read, such as local or Interstate plus the type of publications, ie Newspaper, Trade Journals, Industry Specific Magazines. If you have to actually subscribe to specific magazines, that cost can then be passed to the customer.

You only need one customer to pay for a specific trade magazine and that then opens up a whole new world of new potential customers for you to approach.

The above fees are just a guide and it is up to you to decide what you would like to charge. However, as you can see, if you had 25 to 30 customers, you are then making good money.

A lot of businesses read and subscribe to various magazines, however they never act on what they read, but with you sending them clippings and information on themselves or their competitors, you are providing them with a valuable service and making them focus on that area of their business.

To promote and build your business, you can scan your local phone book and send out a solicitation letter to each of those listed. A couple days after you’ve posted your sales letter, you should follow up with a professional phone call.

Consider advertising in local newspapers or publications in the “Business Sections”

Don’t limit your new business just to Businesses, consider approaching local Public Relation Companies, Advertising Agencies or Civic Organisations and explain your services in detail to them. They may have specific clients that your service is ideally aimed at.

Clipping services in one form or another have been around since the advent of the printing press, and are becoming more in demand. It’s definitely the kind of business where anyone who knows how to read can set up and operate with an absolute minimum investment.

Trust you have found this infromative and Until Next Time … Be All You Can Be

It is becoming increasingly difficult to make ends meet with just one source of income. Thereby, more families are investigating the possibilities of starting their own extra-income business. Most of these part-time endeavors are started and operated from the comfort and privacy of the home.

A large percentage are indeed making extra money, that goes towards kids sports, the house or maybe even a luxury of a take away dinner. Some have made extra part time businesses into full-time, very profitable businesses. Others are just keeping busy and having fun. The important thing is that they are doing something positive and working towards a goal and you can do this too.

The fields of multi-level marketing, and in-home party sales have never been more popular. Identify an area that is of particular interest to yourself and make the neccesary enquiries. Bare in mind, that there are other possibilities open to you in starting and operating a home based part time business.

If you type, you can start a home-based typing service; if you have a truck or a trailer, you can start a clean-up service. More than a few enterprising stay at home Mums have found enjoyment and extra income by starting home cleaning, washing and ironing services. A lot of Home Based Businesses have found success on Ebay. There’s literally no end to the ways you can start and operate a profitable extra income business from your home.

First things first however, is do some basic market research. Find out for yourself, first hand, just how many people there are in your area who are interested in your proposed product or service. You may be surprised to learn that you already have customers waiting for you, you only need to ask. This is known as defining your market and pinpointing your customers.

Your next effort should be directed toward the “detailing” of your business plan. If you are unsure on how to lay out a Business Plan, search the internet for “Free Business Plans” Too often, enthusiastic and ambitious entrepreneurs jump in on an extra income project and suddenly find that the costs or time requirements are more than they initially thought. It pays to lay it all out on paper before becoming too involved. Have a definitive goal, plan and roadmap and “see” everything before you start and then work towards your goal.

Don’t forget to check and confirm with your local councils rules and guidelines in relation to Home Businesses and most importantly what Insurances you may need.

Now, assuming you’ve got your market targeted, you know who your customers are going to be and how you’re going to reach them with your product or service. The next step is to set your plan in motion and start making money.

You may only decide to commence the home typing service purely as a means of generating additional income for a holiday and then you have no need for it. Or you have a regualr clientele of 10 homes that you clean once a fortnight and that is all you want or need. That is great, congratulations and well done.

You may want to strive for more and you build your little home business and it creates a life of it’s own and before you know it, you are working in a full time business generating more money than before. Once again, congratulations and well done, however, please remember at every step to obtain professional advice from Accountants, Insurance Brokers, Small Business Consultants, Council etc..

Although you may only consider it a small business or just a little extra bit of income, the Tax Office may view it differently and you have a responsibility to act accordingly.

We trust you have found this information of benefit. Please remember to obtain professional advice and assistance before starting a home based business.

Until Next Time …

Almost everyone needs or wants more money coming into the household, and with this desire most people would like to have a home based business that is capable of producing a little extra. The trouble is though, that like the rest of us, they may be time poor.

By definition, most people today are busy, however, if we are honest with ourselves we could find extra time to commence a home-based business. If it means enough to us or if we have a definitive goal, we will find the time and means to not only start it but to ensure that it is successful. By successful, that could mean an extra $100 a week or $1000 a month.

To achieve this though, we may need to re-evaluate certain favorite pastimes, such as having a couple of beers with the guys or watching TV, however, if you reach your goal of an extra $100 or $1000.00 per month, you may very well then have all the time you want for doing whatever you want to do.

Try it. Start by making a list of the things you want and have to do tomorrow. Schedule your trips to the store, School or kids sports to coincide with other things you have to do. Organise your trips to take care of as many things as possible while you’re out of the house. Take note of the time you spend on the telephone. You will be surprised how much time can be saved.

Whatever chores you have to do at home, set aside a specific amount of time to do them. For instance, just one hour a day devoted to the yard would probably make your property the envy of all your neighbours. Don’t attempt to do it in one foul swoop. Whether it’s painting your house, fixing leaky taps, or mowing your lawn and trimming shrubs, do a part of it, or one job each day, and you’ll be amazed at your progress.

You will be amazed that once you start listing and planning what to do, and then carry out your plans, you’ll find plenty of “extra time” for handling virtually any kind of home based business or project. We may not like routines or schedules, but without some sort of plan or road map, how do we know how to get there.

The secret of all financially successful people is simply that they are organised and do not waste time. Think about it. Review your own activities, and then see if you can’t find a couple of extra hours in each day for more constructive accomplishments.

When you really become involved in an extra income producing endeavor, you will get to that point, where organisation and time management becomes second nature. Plan out on paper what you have to do, what you want to do and when you are going to do it. Tip: Don’t Procrastinate.

Finally and most importantly, when you’re organising your time and your business, be sure to set aside some time for relaxation. Be sure to schedule time when you, your spouse and your family can be together. Do not involve yourself in your project to such an extent that you exclude the ones you love, from your life.

Taking stock of your time everyday, and from there, reorganising your activities is what it’s all about. It’s a matter of becoming more efficient in the use of your time. It’s really easy to do, and you will not only accomplish a lot more, you will also find greater fulfillment in your life. I was asked one day if I wanted an extra day every week and I replied yes please, How ? and the answer has stuck with me ever since … Get up an hour earlier.

Until Next Time …
