Losing weight is a matter of taking in fewer calories than you burn. Once a healthy diet is planned it’s time to get down to exercise. This should include seven days a week, 30 minutes a day of aerobic exercise. It can be running on a treadmill, swimming, or even walking to lose weight. Walking is a low impact way to accomplish the exercise goal. With a few tips in mind it can be even better.

Walking for 30 minutes a day seven days a week is a great start. In fact, it’s much better than the five day, or even three day, plan that many people recommend. 30 minutes of exercise 3-5 times a week just isn’t enough. The body needs work every day. That means seven days a week and if walking is the way to make that tolerable every day for the rest of your life, then walk.

But then more can be added. Additional activity, outside that 30 minutes a day seven days a week, is easy. Park the car further from the store or office, then walk. Instead of gobbling a bagel while riding the elevator up to your floor, enjoy a banana while walking up the stairs. When it’s time to rid the yard of leaves use the old fashioned hand rake rather than the leaf blower. Muscle power is exercise. If you have kids get involved in their games of tag, or chase. They’ll love it and so will your body.
After getting accustomed to walking that 30 minutes every day, make some adjustments by adding intervals. Intervals are short bursts of increased activity sprinkled into a normal routine. Start out by running for 30 seconds every 10 minutes of the walk. Gradually increase this to a one minute run every five minutes, which would work like this. You walk for the first four minutes, then run for the fifth, then walk the next four minutes, run the next minute, and so on for the entire 30 minutes. Keep in mind that a run is not a jog, it’s faster, like a sprint. So if you have to work up to run with jog at first.
Walking to lose weight is healthy, no doubt. But it’s also a great way to get around the neighbourhood, meet neighbours, and see things you probably miss while driving around everywhere you go. If it gets boring you can ask a spouse or family member to join you. Make it a family affair, or get the whole neighbourhood involved.
Stay healthy, eat healthy and remain positive. Form or join a group of like minded people to help in your quest. Before starting any form of exercise or diet, always consult your doctor or medical specialist. the chances are that it has taken you some time to notice that you have gained a few kilos and it will take you a little while to lose it…be patient and remain positive and above all else…have fun.

The quickest way to lose weight is through diet and exercise, period. That means taking in fewer calories than you burn. There’s no need to starve, and in fact periods of starvation such as missing a meal could lead to more weight gain when the body enters “starvation” mode, not to mention starving yourself could cause serious damage to your body. Like so many other things slow and steady wins the race. In the long run a smart every day diet combined with good exercise is the quickest way to lose weight. And the best part is you won’t regain the weight.

Diet doesn’t mean a diet, a short term alteration of normal eating habits. Diet means the everyday, day after day, for all the days of your life way that you eat. A good diet includes foods from every one of the food groups, taken in moderation and the right amounts. And with a well balanced diet it’s easy to adjust calories down when you need to lose a few pounds temporarily.

Sounds like a big change, huh? It might not be. You may already eat most of the foods needed for a well balanced diet, just not in the right portions. For many people it’s a simple matter of cutting down portion sizes to move from bad eating to good eating. Even the chocolate cake or cookies can fit into a well balanced diet, if eaten in small quantities. The three bad white foods – white bread, white rice, and sugar – can easily be replaced in your diet. Eating whole grain bread instead of white bread, brown rice instead of white rice, and fruits instead of sugary foods are healthy changes that don’t require eating much less.

The key to maintaining a healthy diet is planning. When you fail to plan you miss meals, that leads to binge eating. When you fail to plan you often find yourself at the mercy of a fast food restaurant or a friend whose cooking leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to healthy foods. Plan meals in advance, including for occasions like parties and social gatherings. It only takes a few questions to find out what’s on the menu and plan the days other meals accordingly to not break the bank for calories. Part of the plan is understanding that sometimes the plan will fail. Don’t let a failure discourage you. One cheated meal doesn’t mean the whole diet, remember it’s an every day forever diet not just a few days diet, has failed.

As for exercise do 30 minutes of aerobic exercise seven days a week. That’s the goal, don’t worry if you miss a day here or there. Add extra activity such as parking further from the store or office for a little walk, or taking stairs instead of the elevator.

Combine the healthy every day diet with exercise for the quickest way to lose weight. Consult your doctor or medical specialist prior to commencing any diet or exercise program. Overall, make it fun, do not beat yourself up if you miss your jazzercise workout, go for a walk around your neighbourhood, play with your kids, just do something.

It’s a talent that everyone has, yet they think they don’t. The power of innovation. If you’ve ever marvelled at somebody’s creative prowess, guess what, you can create and innovate too. It just takes time. Everyone is born with a creative nature. The box of crayons in kindergarten were not limited to those who possessed potential; because the truth is, everybody has potential.

You know how long it took you to learn how to ride a bike or drive a car or never commit the same mistake again? It’s the same with innovation. It just takes a bit of practice and a lot of time before this mind function comes easily when called. This article will teach you a few tips on how to bring innovation into your life.

Don’t listen to what other people say. Follow the beat of your own drum. Allowing for the input of other people will only bring cacophony to the music you are trying to make. If you have an original idea, don’t waste your time and effort trying to make people understand. They won’t. And the help you will probably get comes in the form of negative feedback. If all those geniuses listened to their peers, we would probably still be living in the middle ages.

Spend time on it, develop it, nuture and embrace it. Carry on your normal everyday life as you would and do not forget your responsibilities, however when free time arises, spend it developing innovation.

Exercise. Take a walk. Run a mile or two. Send all those endorphins coursing through your veins. Exercising certainly clears and relaxes your mind and allows for anything to pop up. Mowing the lawn, cleaning the garage and hey presto, my mind is out there.

Record your dreams. Aren’t some of them just the craziest things that your conscious mind would never have thought of? If you’ve had these dreams before, this only shows you the untapped innovative power you have lying within. So jot down those dreams, as those dreams may create an innovative spark in you.

Find your own style. Be the best you you can be and let people see how valuable an asset you are.

Don’t hide behind nifty gadgets or tools. You don’t need the most expensive set of paints to produce a masterpiece. The same way with writing. You don’t need some expensive fountain pen and really smooth paper for a bestseller. In fact, J.K. Rowling wrote the first book of the Harry Potter Series on bits of tissue. So what if you’ve got an expensive SLR camera if you’re a crappy photographer? Who cares if you’ve got a blinging laptop if you can’t put together two words at all? The artist actually reduces the number of tools he / she has, as they get better at their craft: They know what works and what doesn’t.

Nothing will work without passion. What wakes you up in the mornings? What keeps the flame burning? What is the one thing that you’ll die if you don’t do? Sometimes people with talent are overtaken by the people who want it more. Think the hare and the tortoise. Ellen Degeneres once said that if you’re not doing something that you want to do, then you don’t really want to do it. And that’s true. Sometimes you just want something so bad you become a virtual unstoppable. And that is passion. Passion will keep you going.

Don’t worry about inspiration. You can’t force it; inspiration hits when you least expect it to, for those unpredictable yet inevitable moments you should prepare. An idea could strike you on the subway, yet alas, you poor unfortunate soul; you have no sheet of paper to scribble down a thought that could change the world or more importantly, You. Avoid these disasters. Have a pen and paper within your arm’s reach at all times.

I hope this article has helped you bring more innovation into your life. Keep in mind that you’re doing these things for your own satisfaction and not anybody else’s.

Until Next Time…

Prior to starting any form of fitness, especially, if it has been some time since your last visit, please consult your doctor and health professional. Don’t rush in and start lifting heavy weights or ride a marathon…The point is what.

1. Get a fitness program that best suits you. Every person is different and as such you will need a program designed specifically for your needs. Always consult a qualified trainer to ensure that the fitness program will not hurt you and is designed with your goal in mind. If your aim is to shape and tone your body, then there is no need in lifting heavy weights, which creates bulk. If your fitness program has not been designed specifically for you, it may lead to frustration and possible injuries.

2. Set realistic targets and timelines. You will become frustrated if your goal is to be competing in the Mr. Universe Body Building Championship within 1 month of starting. Make sure that the body you prefer in a period of time is achievable and realistic. Your selected program should also be practical and not give you false hopes.

3. Keep to your approved workout schedule. Repeating the same sets of exercises and same weight without getting your muscles to work harder will not give satisfactory results. Your personal trainer or yourself should record your daily results and mark the progress you have made. A daily log will also assist in motivating you towards your set goal. By keeping track of your progress, it helps to build confidence of where you have been and where you wish to go.

4. Perform a set of exercises in 10 repetitions. Every number that was accomplished is called a repetition. Try to make every repetition with less momentum as much as possible. The lesser the momentum, the harder your muscles work. And the harder they work, the bigger they become. Once again this depends upon your goal and aims.

5. Be flexible and perform a variety of exercises. Every exercise program should have a variety. You can change your exercises, goals and sets every month to keep you motivated and on the go. Communicate with your personal trainer or instructor regularly. You and your Instructor may decide to include skipping sessions, sand dunes, beach walks and obstacle courses, all designed to increase fitness and create a variety of activities for you.

Not all programs work for all types of people. There is no 1 workout that is best for everyone. But you learn from experienced people. Learn to acknowledge blocks and demonstrate self-discipline, keep yourself motivated and work harder everyday and add variety. Above all else, have fun and stay motivated and positive.

Until Next Time…

Put simply, ‘natural skin care’ is caring for your skin in a natural and chemical-free way. ‘Natural skin care’ advocates enabling the skin to take care of itself (without any assistance from synthetic materials/ chemicals). ‘Natural skin care’ is about inculcation of good habits in the way you lead your day to day life. A lot of natural skin care measures are actually the same as those for body care in general.

So let’s see what these natural skin care measures are.

Well the first and the foremost natural skin care measure is – ‘Drink a lot of water’. Around 8 glasses of water is a must everyday. Water helps in flushing out the toxins from the body, in a natural way. It helps in the overall upkeep of the body and promotes good health for all organs (not just skin).

General cleanliness is another inexpensive way of natural skin care. Daily shower, wearing clean clothes and sleeping on a clean mattress/pillow are all part of general cleanliness. After all, clean skin is the key to keeping the skin disorders at bay.

Regular exercise is the next thing on the cards. Exercise increases the flow of blood that helps in getting rid of body toxins and keeping you healthy. Exercise also helps in beating stress which is the worst enemy of good health.

Healthy food and eating habits are also recommended for natural skin care. Some type of food (e.g. oily food) is know to cause acne and should be avoided as much as possible. Your diet should be a healthy mix of various nutrient providing foods. Raw fruits and vegetables are known to provide freshness to your body and help in getting rid of body toxins.

A good sleep is also instrumental in maintaining good health and in beating stress. As a natural skin care measure, a good sleep delays slacking of skin.

Beating stress is another natural skin care therapy. Stress causes overall damage to body and health. Drinking a lot of water, getting a sound sleep and exercise has already been mentioned as stress busters. Indulging in a warm bubble bath, listening to music and playing your favourite sport are also good ways of beating stress. Yoga is yet another way of beating stress..

Avoiding excessive exposure to sun (by wearing long sleeved clothes, hat and umbrella etc), is another natural skin care strategy. Sunscreen lotions are also recommended as necessary.

A lot of traditional and home made natural skin care products/ measures are also known to be very effective. Such measures are not only natural and easy-to-follow, but also relatively inexpensive.

Your overall appearance, attitude and approach may go a long way towards securing the job you have always wanted. So look for ways to improve your helath at all times. As always, seek expert advice and assistance before commencing anything new or any variation to your normal routine.

Until Next Time…

A lot of people, young and old, male or female have experienced acne and as a result and in extreme cases, they may lose self confidence in themselves and their ability to apply for or even hold down full time employment. This should never be the case and if you feel that this is impacting within your life, then please talk with a trained professional.

We all know someone who has acne, or we we have experienced it ourselves, However, it is not something that cannot be addressed and tackled. There are literally, loads of acne skin care products available and all claim amazing results. Although we do not claim 1 over another, we do believe that with correct consultation with a medical practioner and a positive plan, you can reduce or rectify the effects over time.

You can classify acne skin care products into 3 broad categories –
* Preventive or general acne skin care products
* Over-the-counter, specialised acne skin care products
* On-prescription acne skin care products.

The general acne skin care products are the ones that are used as acne-prevention measure. These include cleansers, make-up removers and similar products that help prevent acne. In the real sense, these acne skin care products are just those that should anyway be part of your daily routine. However, some of these are more oriented to act like an acne skin care product. These acne skin care products act against the causes of acne e.g. limiting the production of sebum/oil and preventing clogging of skin pores. Basically, these acne skin care products prevent the oil from getting trapped in pores and hence hamper the growth of bacteria that lead to acne. The general acne skin care products also include exfoliation products like skin peels. These work towards removing dead skin cells, hence reducing the possibility of pore-clogging and bacteria development.

Then there are specialised acne skin care products that are available over-the-counter i.e. without the need of a prescription. These include products like vanishing creams which extract the extra oil from the skin. Most of these acne skin care products are based on benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, both of which are the enemies of bacteria (and hence acne). You should start with a product that has lower concentration of benzoyl peroxide (e.g. 5%) and see how your skin responds to it. Alpha-hydroxy-acid based moisturizers are also popular as acne skin care products. You might have to try a few, before you zero-in on the acne skin care product that is effective for you. Before beginning with any course or treatment, you should consider contacting a dermatologist or a specialist for assistance.

On-prescription acne skin care products are the ones that are prescribed by a dermatologist. This can include ointments that can be applied on the affected area or oral antibiotics. Dermatologist could also suggest a minor surgical procedure to remove the contents of pustules. However, never try to squeeze or do this by yourself, as it may lead to permanent damage of your skin. Once again, Your doctor should be consulted for various other safe acne treatments currently available.

Tackling acne is not that difficult, but with all things, professional advice should be sought initially.

We trust you have found this of benefit.

Until Next Time
